Six Injured in Lift Crash at Hyderabad Apartment Building
In a tragic incident in Chandulal Baradari, Bahadurpura, located in Hyderabad’s Old City, six people were injured when a lift malfunctioned and crashed. The accident occurred unexpectedly while the lift was in use, leaving all six occupants hurt.
Among the injured, one person reportedly sustained a serious leg fracture, while the other five suffered minor injuries. Hearing a loud crash, the apartment residents rushed to the scene to rescue the victims. They immediately called for an ambulance and ensured the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Local police were informed of the incident and arrived to investigate the cause of the lift’s malfunction. Initial findings suggest that poor maintenance and violations of safety protocols at the apartment building may have contributed to the accident. Authorities have registered a case and are conducting further inquiries.
The incident has sparked concerns among residents about the maintenance of lifts and other essential facilities in their buildings. Many have emphasized the need for regular inspections and strict adherence to safety standards to prevent similar accidents. Residents are urging authorities to take swift action to ensure all lifts in the area undergo proper and timely maintenance.
This isn’t the first time such an incident has occurred in Hyderabad. In August, a 65-year-old man tragically lost his life after falling into a lift duct in another apartment building. It was believed that the man accidentally opened a door to the lift shaft without realizing the lift compartment was not present, leading to a fatal fall.
These alarming incidents highlight the critical importance of maintaining safety protocols and ensuring regular inspections for lifts in residential complexes to avoid further tragedies.
