In a recent letter to the Central Information Commission (CIC), Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has raised concerns about the education qualification of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sisodia, who is also the Education Minister of Delhi, has requested the CIC to provide information about Modi’s educational background, including details of his degrees and certificates. The letter has sparked a fresh controversy, with many questioning the need for such a demand and the timing of the letter.

Sisodia’s letter comes in the wake of a controversy surrounding the educational qualifications of several politicians in India. In recent months, there have been allegations that many politicians have falsely claimed to have degrees or certificates from prestigious universities. Sisodia’s demand for information about Modi’s education qualification has, therefore, been seen by many as an attempt to expose any discrepancies in the Prime Minister’s educational background. However, others have criticized Sisodia for politicizing the issue and using it as a tool to attack Modi.

The controversy over Modi’s education qualification is not new. In the past, there have been questions raised about his claim of having a degree in entire political science from Delhi University. The university had initially refused to provide any information about Modi’s degree, citing privacy concerns. However, later it was revealed that Modi had indeed graduated from the university but with a different subject. The controversy had died down then, but Sisodia’s letter has once again brought it to the forefront. It remains to be seen how the CIC will respond to Sisodia’s request and what impact it will have on the ongoing political discourse in India.
