The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) in Telangana is organizing an international academic conference. The event is titled, “Tracing Trajectories, Reimagining Muslim Politics,” and will focus on the theme, “Power Politics and Cultural Memory: Trajectories of Muslim Identity and State Engagement in Post-Colonial India.” This two-day conference will be held on September 14-15 at the Henry Martin Institute in Shivarampally, Hyderabad.

The conference will bring together scholars, thinkers, and experts to discuss Muslim political thought and practice. The discussions will primarily focus on the context of the Deccan region, exploring the role of Muslim identity in post-colonial India.

Abdul Hafeez, the state president of SIO Telangana, explained that the event aims to enrich discussions on important topics such as minorities, alliances, history, state relations, law, and violence. The goal is to enhance both academic and societal understanding through these dialogues.

Abdus Salam Shakir, the convener of the International Academic Conference, shared that the event is crucial for both the organization and the broader community. He emphasized the importance of navigating challenges like lawlessness and societal issues, adding that the conference aims to critically engage with scholars from both national and international backgrounds who study minority issues.
