An incident of violence occurred in Timmareddy Gudem village in Munagala mandal on Saturday during a programme celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti. Munagala SI Lokesh Srinivas Reddy allegedly assaulted Congress MPTC Erneni Srinivasa Reddy, severely injuring his eye, after an argument broke out when Srinivasa Reddy asked about the meaning of the Jai Bheem song being performed. MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav was also present.

Srinivasa Reddy’s relatives protested against the police’s actions and blocked the convoy of MLA Mallaiah Yadav, who had come to unveil Ambedkar’s statue. The protests stopped after the CI promised to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against the SI.
