Thousands of Devotees Walk to Srisailam for Mahashivaratri
In celebration of Mahashivaratri, thousands of Shiva devotees are walking barefoot to Srisailam while chanting the name of Lord Shiva. Many devotees from Nagarkurnool district are making their way through Achampet and the Nallamala forest.
To help the pilgrims, donors along the route are providing water, fruits, and food. Rest shelters have also been set up at different locations so that devotees can take breaks during their journey. A large number of devotees from Karnataka are also passing through Nagarkurnool district on their way to Srisailam.
Health camps have been arranged for the devotees, and the police are ensuring security. The main road through the Nallamala forest is crowded with pilgrims walking to Srisailam. Many devotees have started their journey from Mannanur, passing through Vatuvarlapally, Domalapenta, and Eegalapenta.
On Wednesday, the day of Mahashivaratri, the devotees will have the divine darshan of Lord Mallanna at Srisailam.
