YSR Telangana Party president Y S Sharmila was granted bail on Tuesday by a local court in Hyderabad. She was arrested the previous day for allegedly assaulting police officers following an altercation outside her residence. Sharmila criticized the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, stating that he doesn’t know about governance and has not achieved anything in the past nine years. She also accused the CM of misusing the police to silence her.

The court granted her conditional bail upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs 30,000 and two sureties. She was asked to inform the police before leaving the area. The case against Sharmila was registered after police personnel lodged a complaint accusing her of assaulting a sub-inspector, injuring a constable and verbally abusing police officials. The incident happened when Sharmila was seen manhandling police officers while trying to conduct a protest without permission.

According to the police, they received information that Sharmila was planning to hold a protest at the SIT office. Since there was no permission for it, police personnel tried to stop her near her residence. However, she misbehaved with them and pushed those present there, including female police officers.
