Hyderabad: Several areas in Hyderabad will face a water supply disruption for 24 hours starting from 6 a.m. on Thursday. This is due to a leakage detected in the main water pipeline. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has identified the issue in the 2375 mm diameter MS pumping main of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Phase-3, which provides water to the city.
To fix the leakage, the HMWSSB will carry out repair work during this period. As a result, the water supply will be temporarily halted in certain areas of Hyderabad.
The water board has asked residents in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the disruption. The affected areas include Sastripuram, Bandlaguda, Bhojagutta, Allabanda, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, Prashasan Nagar, Tattikhana, Lalapet, Saheb Nagar, Auto Nagar, and Vasavi reservoirs.
Other areas that will also experience water shortages are Sainikpuri, Moulali, Madhapur, Ayyappa Society, Kavuri Hills, Snehapuri, Kailasagiri, Devendra Nagar, Madhuban, Durga Nagar, Budvel, Suleman Nagar, Kismatpur, Gandhamguda, Boduppal, Mallikarjuna Nagar, Chengicherla, Bharat Nagar, Peerzadiguda, and Dharmasai (Shamshabad).
