    A terrible road accident happened in East Godavari district late on Tuesday night, causing the deaths of seven laborers. The accident occurred when a mini lorry overturned near Chilakavaripakalu in Devarapalli mandal. Two other people were seriously injured.

    The mini lorry was carrying tamarind and traveling from Borampalem village in Eluru district to Tadimalla village in East Godavari district. On the way, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it crashed into a field, turning over.

    At the time of the accident, there were nine people in the vehicle. Sadly, the seven laborers were trapped under the tamarind bags and died on the spot. The driver fled the scene after the crash. The two injured people were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

    The seven people who died were identified as Deva Battula Boorayya (40), Tammireddy Satyanarayana (45), P. Chinnamusalayya (35), Katthava Krishna (40), Katthava Sattipandu (40), Tadi Krishna (45), and Bokka Prasad. They were all from Tadimalla and nearby villages in Nidadavolu mandal.

    The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the accident.
