    Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj, Seethakka, has raised concerns about the misuse of social media and its impact on personal lives.

    Speaking to reporters at the Assembly on Saturday, she shared that social media has caused her emotional distress. She revealed that her photos were misused, which not only affected her personally but also created obstacles in her political journey.

    Seethakka pointed out that it is already difficult for women to progress in politics. Even after achieving a certain status, some people intentionally try to create hurdles for them using social media. She also accused the BRS party of spreading false information online, stating that fake news is being given more attention than real facts.

    The Minister mentioned that she has always used social media for positive purposes, but now it has become a source of trouble for her. Despite her dedicated service during the pandemic, she continues to face criticism.

    Highlighting the increasing negative effects of social media on families and personal lives, Seethakka stressed the need to combat misinformation. She specifically pointed out issues like body shaming and digitally altered images, urging action to stop their spread.
