Secret US Documents Related to Ukraine Leaked, Prompting US Justice Dept Investigation

The US Department of Justice has initiated an investigation into a series of leaked US documents that have recently surfaced on the internet. The breach seems to include confidential assessments and secret intelligence reports related not only to Ukraine and Russia but also to highly sensitive analyses of US allies. The Pentagon has formally referred the apparent breach to the Justice Department and is actively reviewing the matter. While some of the leaked documents appear to be manipulated, many are consistent with CIA World Intelligence Review reports that are shared at high levels within the White House, Pentagon, and State Department. Defense analysts believe that any breach of internal classified US documents would be both damaging and potentially embarrassing.
