Hyderabad: To meet the rising demand for rail travel during Diwali and Chhath Puja, South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the operation of around 850 special trains.
To make ticketing easier for passengers, SCR has added 14 extra ticket counters at major railway stations. They are also prepared to open more counters based on ticket demand. Additionally, SCR is increasing the presence of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and ticket-checking staff to manage long lines and crowds during busy travel times.
Senior officers from SCR headquarters and divisions have been stationed at key locations such as Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Kacheguda, Vijayawada, Guntur, and Tirupati. These officers will personally monitor the passenger rush and assess the situation. Extra ticket-checking staff have been assigned to ensure all reserved coaches are properly monitored. Special teams have also been set up to prevent ticketless travel and make sure that genuine passengers have a comfortable journey.
The RPF has introduced several safety measures to handle the crowds and ensure the security of passengers during the festive season, according to a senior SCR officer.
