    Hyderabad: General Manager of South Central Railway, Arun Kumar Jain, hoisted the Tricolour on Sunday during the 76th Republic Day celebrations.

    Seven contingents participated in the event, representing the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), Civil Defence, and Scouts & Guides. They performed a march past and presented a ceremonial salute to the General Manager.

    During his address, Arun Kumar Jain highlighted the achievements of South Central Railway (SCR) in the current financial year. He revealed that the zone generated a gross originating revenue of ₹14,991 crore up to December 2024. This included ₹4,268 crore from passenger services and ₹10,011 crore from freight operations. The zone also achieved freight loading of 102.8 million tonnes and transported 197 million passengers during the same period.

    In terms of infrastructure development, SCR has made notable progress this year. The zone completed 16 kilometers of new railway lines, 31 kilometers of doubling, and 107 kilometers of tripling. Specifically, as part of the tripling project, a 37-kilometer stretch between Hasanparti Road, Kazipet, and Warangal stations was completed. This included the commissioning of a “Rail under Rail” structure involving eight major and 52 minor bridges—a first of its kind for the zone.

    On the topic of railway security, Jain emphasized the efforts of the Railway Protection Force in using advanced technologies to enhance surveillance and improve their response time. He noted that these initiatives are helping ensure the safety and security of passengers and railway assets.
