    The district Collector BM Santhosh visited Alampur municipality to check the drinking water supply on Thursday morning. He directed officials to ensure every household has access to drinking water without any issues.

    During his visit, he identified problems with drinking water in wards no. 1, 7, and 9. He inspected the water reserves in Tunga Bhadra river with municipal officials and emphasized the importance of prioritizing water supply in the next two months to avoid inconvenience for residents.

    Collector Santhosh warned that neglecting these responsibilities regarding local water sources could result in serious consequences. He urged the use of bore wells, hand pumps, and repairs of leaking pipelines to restore water supply in the wards.

    Additionally, steps were discussed to pump stagnant water from Tunga Bhadra river for domestic use, with 5 lakh rupees allocated for necessary works. The officials were instructed to provide water supply through two tankers daily.

    Furthermore, the Collector visited ZP High School and Girls High School to inspect ongoing works related to infrastructure improvements under various schemes. He emphasized the completion of temporary repairs such as drinking water facilities, flooring, toilets, kitchen sheds, and digital classrooms before schools reopen.

    The visit included discussions with Mission Bhageeratha EE Bhimeshwar Rao, Municipal Commissioner Saraswati, Municipal Engineer Megha Nath Goud, MP DO Abdul Jabbar, Zonal Education Officer Ashok Kumar, municipal staff, and others.
