Wanaparthy: A sanitation worker named Sujatha collapsed outside Wanaparthy Medical College after being denied entry. She had been protesting against her dismissal, which she claimed was based on false theft allegations. Due to exhaustion and vomiting, she was taken to Wanaparthy Government Hospital for treatment.

Workers at the college alleged that the contractor, Srikanth Reddy, was illegally removing sanitation staff while still taking salaries meant for all 143 workers. Despite multiple complaints, the district hospital superintendent, Rangarao, reportedly supported the contractor, allowing the issue to continue.

Sujatha was not allowed to meet the Medical College Principal, Sunandini, when she requested proof of the allegations against her. In response, she started a hunger strike, demanding her job back. However, after standing in the hot sun for hours, she collapsed.

Other workers claimed that the contractor had been misusing salary funds, reducing the number of workers, and forcing the remaining staff to handle extra work. They had previously submitted complaints through Prajavani and also approached District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, urging authorities to take action.
