According to police, the stampede happened on December 4 at 9:40 PM at the Sandhya 70 mm theatre in Chikkadpally, RTC Crossroad. The victim, a 35-year-old woman named Revathi, lost her life in the chaos, while her son sustained injuries.

A large crowd had gathered to watch the premiere show of “Pushpa 2.” However, there was no prior announcement from the theatre management or the actors’ team about their visit, which added to the confusion.

Despite knowing about the actors’ arrival, the theatre management reportedly failed to arrange adequate security or create separate entry and exit points. This negligence contributed to the overcrowding and eventual stampede.

Following the incident, the Chikkadpally police registered a case under Section 105 and 118(1) r/w 3(5) of the BNS Act. The three accused were arrested, presented in court, and subsequently sent to judicial custody.
