Former union minister Salman Khurshid has criticized the BRS government for not fulfilling its promises. He questioned why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who could spend a lot of money on building ‘Pragati Bhavan’, couldn’t deliver 2 BHK houses to the poor. Khurshid mentioned that the Congress government had built over 22.89 lakh new houses for the poor in Telangana between 2004-14, while the BRS government had not achieved anything substantial in constructing 2 BHK houses.

According to an RTI report, the BRS government allocated Rs 23,679 crore for the 2 BHK scheme from 2016-17 to 2020-21 but released only Rs 383 crore. Khurshid pointed out that in Congress-ruled states like Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, the party has fulfilled its promises to the people.
