YSR Congress Party has reacted strongly to YS Sharmila’s decision to withdraw from the Telangana Assembly elections. The party’s spokesperson, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, clarified that the party had no involvement in Sharmila’s decision. He emphasized that Sharmila was the president of her own political party and her choices were her own.
Reddy also highlighted that Sharmila had joined forces with a party that had falsely accused YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of YSR Congress Party, in collusion with the TDP. The party’s concern lies solely with the issues and strategies of their own state, and they refrain from commenting on other states or individuals.
With this statement, the YSR Congress Party officially distanced itself from YS Sharmila and her political activities. It is evident that there has been a rift between Sharmila and Jagan, as they have been avoiding each other and not even meeting during occasions to pay tribute to their late father, Dr Rajasekhara Reddy, at Idupulapaya.
