SZ Sayeed, the national co-ordinator of the All-India Congress Committee Minorities department, recently met with party Central leaders to discuss the problems faced by minorities in Telangana. He expressed concern over the lack of progress made for Muslims in the past decade and how the community has been politically weakened. Sayeed specifically mentioned the appointment of incompetent individuals to minority institutions by former CM K Chdrashekar Rao, which he believed degraded the educational and moral standards of Muslims. He questioned why there were no educated and intelligent Muslims being appointed to important positions. Sayeed also appealed for competent individuals to be nominated to Minority Welfare boards and stressed the importance of addressing issues related to the Waqf Board and Hajj Committee. Additionally, he emphasized the need to consider old and loyal activists for government posts, even with the inclusion of TRS leaders joining the Congress.
