    Minister Sridhar Babu Honors Telangana Martyrs in Karimnagar

    IT Minister D Sridhar Babu hoisted the national flag during the Telangana Praja Palana celebrations in Karimnagar on Tuesday. During the event, he spoke about the various struggles that have shaped the region, from the historical Telangana Armed Peasants’ Struggle to the more recent Million March. The Central government officially announced the creation of Telangana as a new state on June 2, 2014, fulfilling the aspirations of the people. Telangana became the 29th state of India.

    In line with the desires of the people, a new government was formed in Telangana. Minister Babu emphasized that the government’s goal is to offer transparent governance, ensure social justice, and provide equal opportunities for all sections of society.

    The minister also highlighted that the government has introduced six key guarantees aimed at helping the poor and needy. He praised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s leadership, stating that the government is working hard to implement these guarantees and ensure the development of Telangana. As part of this, the Praja Palana programme has been launched to bring benefits to every poor person in the state. Since December 28 of last year, the government has received 12,95,381 applications in the district under this programme.

    Minister Sridhar Babu also announced that the government plans to launch the Rythu Bharosa Yojana to support farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers will receive Rs 15,000 per acre, compared to the Rs 10,000 per acre provided by the earlier Rythu Bandhu scheme. The new scheme will be implemented soon, with clear procedures in place.

    Additionally, the Telangana government has decided to join the Fasal Bima Yojana, a crop insurance scheme. Through this initiative, the government will pay the insurance premiums on behalf of farmers. To further support agricultural development, the government has also established the Telangana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Commission, which focuses on farmer welfare and agricultural growth.
