In a recent IPL 2023 match, Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana impressed with his deadly spell of 3-15 in four overs, helping Chennai Super Kings win by six wickets against Mumbai Indians. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad praised Pathirana’s bowling and revealed that he avoids facing him in the nets as his deliveries are tough to predict, making it difficult to judge the length and line of the ball.

Chasing a modest 140, Devon Conway top-scored with 44 while Gaikwad scored a quick 30 in 16 balls. Gaikwad discussed their batting approach, stating that the aim was to have a positive intent and take advantage of any loose balls. He further elaborated on Chennai’s preparation for the season, explaining that the work starts from pre-season camp, where domestic players are available to join and express themselves.
