Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is improving its medical services for employees by expanding the emergency care unit at its Tarnaka hospital. Right now, the emergency unit has four beds. Soon, eight more beds will be added, increasing the total to 12 beds.
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) has agreed to support this project by providing funds through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. IOCL will give financial help for the expansion and will work through the voluntary organization Nirman.org to carry out the project.
In addition to expanding the emergency care unit, special centers will be set up to train employees in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) techniques. This training will help staff respond better in emergency situations.
An agreement for the expansion was signed on Wednesday at the Bus Bhavan. TGSRTC Managing Director V C Sajjanar, along with representatives from IOCL and Nirman.org, took part in the event and exchanged gifts.
Sajjanar said that the health and safety of employees is a top priority. He added that the Tarnaka hospital is being upgraded to meet corporate standards. He also thanked IOCL for their support and said that the new 12-bed emergency care unit will include advanced services like a cath lab.
Other attendees at the event included IOCL officials SC Mesram, P Kailash Kant, VVS Chakravarthy, Nirman.org COO Pulla Anuradha, hospital superintendent Dr. Shailaja Murthy, and medical administrator Dr. Srinivas.
