Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar has assured employees that all buses, including electric ones, are fully managed by TSRTC. He urged employees not to believe any false rumours about privatisation and reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to its operations.
On Friday, Sajjanar held virtual meetings with field-level employees and officers. During these discussions, he talked about TSRTC’s performance, the special bus services during Sankranti, employee welfare, and the implementation of the Mahalaxmi scheme, which provides free transport for women.
Sajjanar praised the staff for their hard work during Sankranti. He thanked them for their dedication, especially those who spent the festival away from their families to ensure passengers reached their destinations safely.
The meeting also served as an opportunity for employees and officers to share their suggestions on improving the organisation’s performance. The management welcomed their input and discussed ways to enhance operations.
When some employees raised concerns about electric buses and privatisation, Sajjanar clarified that certain individuals were spreading false information. He assured employees that the introduction of electric buses would not lead to job losses. He emphasised that as long as people need transportation, TSRTC will continue to operate, and employees should not worry about these changes.
Sajjanar also mentioned that the state government has approved the recruitment of 3,038 new employees, and the hiring process is currently underway. He highlighted the improvements in employee welfare over the past three years, noting that TSRTC has moved from financial uncertainty to a stable system where salaries are now paid on time every month.
