    The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) achieved significant milestones in 2024 under its initiative, ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte.’ During the year, RPF personnel rescued a total of 1,385 children, including 491 who were victims of human trafficking.

    In addition to these rescues, the RPF arrested 460 individuals for stealing passenger belongings. They successfully recovered stolen items worth Rs 3.17 crore. Collaborative efforts with the Government Railway Police (GRP) led to the registration of 500 cases.

    Data released by the RPF on Tuesday highlighted that 674 criminals were arrested in 367 cases under the Railway Police Act. These efforts resulted in the recovery of railway property valued at Rs 83.3 lakh.

    To ensure safer train journeys, RPF personnel took action against various offenses, registering 68,746 cases. These included cases against footboard travelers, unauthorized passengers in ladies and specially-abled coaches, trespassers, and nuisance creators. A total fine of Rs 1.3 crore was imposed on the offenders.

    The RPF also intensified efforts to combat drug-related crimes. They arrested 127 drug peddlers in 111 cases, seizing 2,311.31 kilograms of marijuana worth over Rs five crore. A senior RPF officer emphasized these actions as part of their commitment to maintaining safety and curbing illicit activities on railway premises.
