Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) recently carried out a 15-day special drive in the South Central Railways (SCR) jurisdiction to reduce criminal activities in railway premises.
During this operation, the RPF teams were successful in seizing a large amount of illegal items. They confiscated 60 kg of cannabis, worth Rs 15 lakh, and arrested two individuals. In addition, they intercepted 931 bottles of liquor worth Rs 64,523 and apprehended six people involved in illegal substance trafficking.
Furthermore, the RPF registered 24 cases of unauthorized booking of 635 railway reservation tickets. The confiscated tickets have an estimated value of Rs 12,64,984. These actions demonstrate the RPF’s commitment to combatting fraudulent activities.
Arun Kumar Jain, the general manager of SCR, praised the RPF’s efforts and encouraged them to continue such operations, especially with the upcoming holiday season. He emphasized the RPF’s dedication to ensuring a safe and seamless journey for all rail users.
