Gadwal: Members of the Kishtareddy Bangla royal family recently met with District Collector B M Santosh to discuss concerns over Kottabavi, also known as Janakamma Bhavi, a historic well in Gadwal. The group included Suhasini Reddy, Vikramasimha Reddy, and Venkata Krishna Reddy. They explained the well’s historical importance and asked the Collector to take legal action against those trying to illegally occupy or destroy the site.
The royal family members pointed out that Gadwal has a rich history, visible in its architecture and highlighted in many films. They urged authorities to stop any unauthorized construction or use of these historic places.
Later, during a media briefing at Kishtareddy Bangla, former ZPTC member and son of a former MP, Gadwal Venkatradhi Reddy, along with Suhasini Reddy and Vikramasimha Reddy, shared more details. They said their ancestors, part of the Arugu family, had built Kottabavi in memory of Janakamma after her death. They added that it is the state’s duty to protect such historical landmarks for future generations.
