Warangal: Focus on Bhadrakali Lake and Traffic Management
Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy has instructed officials to speed up the desilting process of Bhadrakali Lake. He emphasized that the lake should be replenished with fresh water before the next monsoon season. Farmers who are interested in using the fertile soil from the lakebed for agricultural purposes should be given permission, he added.
During a review meeting held at the KUDA Office in Hanumakonda on Monday, the MLA discussed various developmental issues with Mayor Gundu Sudharani, KUDA Chairman E. Venkatram Reddy, Hanumakonda District Collector P. Pravinya, and Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Tanaji Wakade.
Addressing the city’s growing traffic problems, Naini highlighted the need to develop five key arterial roads. These include the roads connecting CPO to MGM, Hanuman Temple to Alankar Junction, Congress Bhavan to KUC Road, Ambedkar Junction to NGOs Colony, and Kazipet to Somidi. He directed officials to prepare proposals for widening these roads, with the stretch between MGM and Police Headquarters to be taken up as a pilot project.
To resolve traffic issues caused by petty vendors, Naini suggested relocating them to the Rs 9.40 crore integrated vegetable and non-vegetable market. This move is expected to improve the flow of traffic in busy areas.
Finally, the MLA announced that the double-bedroom houses already constructed in the Warangal West Constituency would be distributed to beneficiaries during the Sankranthi festival. He asked officials to prepare the necessary proposals for this initiative.
