The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) public examination in Hyderabad has changed its question paper pattern this year, causing concern among students and teachers. The Education department made the decision to revise the pattern two months ago, leaving students with minimal time to practice. The number of papers has been reduced from 11 to 6, with changes made to the pattern of mathematics, science, and social studies. Short questions have no choices, while long answers have choices. Students must answer four out of the six questions. This has left many students worried about completing the paper on time and scoring good marks. Previously, there were ample choices in question papers, but now it is a single paper with no opportunity to score good marks in a second part. Teachers have also noted that there is a significant increase in essay questions, but no increase in time. Many students are finding it hard to complete the paper on time and may struggle to pass. Students are calling for the department to rethink the changes and at least increase the time given for the exam.
