Hyderabad: MRPS (Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti) chief Manda Krishna Madiga sharply criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, questioning if he was troubled by the Centre awarding him the Padma Shri.
Speaking at a press conference organized by TUWJ (Telangana Union of Working Journalists), Manda Krishna asked whether Revanth Reddy was upset because the names he recommended to the Centre were not considered for the award. “Is he unhappy that I received the Padma Shri? Is he upset because the people he suggested didn’t get it? Whose names did Revanth Reddy actually send? The individuals he recommended have already benefited greatly. Why did Revanth send those names to the BJP government?” asked Manda Krishna.
The MRPS chief declared that a massive cultural movement is about to unfold in Telangana, led by the Madiga community. He shared plans to demonstrate their collective strength through the participation of lakhs of ‘dappus’ (traditional drums) and thousands of voices. Manda Krishna accused Vivek, the son of senior Congress leader G. Venkata Swamy, of obstructing the categorization of Scheduled Castes (SC) in Telangana. He also alleged that two Mala families—the Mallu family (Batti Vikramarka and Mallu Ravi) and the Venkata Swamy family (Vivek and Vinod)—are creating roadblocks for the movement.
Manda Krishna gave Revanth Reddy a two-month deadline to act on SC categorization, warning that they would not wait any longer. He alleged that while Revanth claims to support SC categorization, he has not taken any concrete steps to advance the cause. Manda Krishna further accused the Congress party of playing foul and failing to deliver on promises.
He went on to allege that Revanth Reddy is now changing his stance on SC categorization. According to him, the Congress party is dominated by the Malas, and this dominance surpasses that of other parties. He claimed that Vivek is using assets worth lakhs of crores and media platforms like V6 and Velugu to hinder the movement. He also pointed out that Congress national president Mallikarjuna Kharge is a Mala and mentioned a recent Congress event at Parade Grounds held under the banner of “Malala Simha Garjana” (Roar of Mala Lions).
