Hyderabad: Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that CM A Revanth Reddy will launch the fifth guarantee, the Indiramma Housing Scheme, on March 11 at Bhadrachalam. He emphasized that the Indiramma ‘rajyam’ is not just about making promises, but also about fulfilling them, especially for the benefit of the poor. Reddy stated that owning a house is a dream for many, and once that dream is realized, it will be a celebration for the less fortunate. He criticized the previous government for neglecting their duty to support the poor and instead using government resources for political gain.

Under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the government will provide house-sites to landless individuals and offer financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to those who already have a house-site. Reddy mentioned that the process of providing the financial assistance has already begun. He conducted meetings with State Housing Corporation officials to discuss the implementation of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. This year, 3,500 houses will be sanctioned for each constituency in the initial phase.

The Housing Corporation, along with district collectors and municipal commissioners, will oversee the housing scheme. The first phase of the scheme will focus on providing Rs 5 lakh for the construction of houses to individuals who own land. The houses must be at least 400 square feet in size and include a hall, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. Houses will be allotted in the name of women, and beneficiaries will be selected based on food security cards after evaluating received applications. Reddy instructed officials to promptly release guidelines related to house construction.
