Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered a thorough investigation into the Dharani portal and the company managing land records, as promised during the Congress election campaign.
The previous government had given the design, development, and management of the Dharani portal to a company called IL&FS in 2018. The company won the tender for Rs 116 crore but later sold its shares for around Rs 1,200 crore, leading to bankruptcy and a change in name to Terrasys Technologies Limited.
Concerns arose over the confidentiality of land data, Aadhaar details, and bank account information of land owners. Allegations included midnight land registrations, prompting a defense from the BRS during the last Assembly elections.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to address pending applications in Dharani promptly, with arrangements being made in Mandal Tahsildar offices to process applications in the first week of March. The State Revenue department was tasked with formulating terms and conditions based on suggestions from the Dharani Committee.
A total of 2.45 lakh applications are awaiting resolution on the Dharani portal statewide. The Chief Minister discussed prioritizing the handling of pending applications and urged immediate action without causing inconvenience to farmers in the first week of March.
