Jersey City, NJ, USA: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy captivated thousands of NRI supporters and members of the Indian diaspora. He invited successful Indians living abroad to come to Telangana and invest there during an event on Sunday afternoon.
“It is your land, your country, but I also promise you the best returns if you invest here. The satisfaction of partnering in the journey ahead will be a bonus,” he said, to loud cheers from the audience.
Reddy reminded the audience that he had visited them last year as the TPCC president and had promised to return only after a Congress government came to power. “I have kept my promise,” he declared.
He listed several promises and guarantees fulfilled for different groups, including free bus travel, free electricity, subsidized cooking gas cylinders, farmer loan waivers, and input subsidies. “These are just a start. We will keep every promise,” he assured.
Addressing governance concerns, Reddy emphasized, “We are going to pursue rapid, sustainable, future-oriented economic growth through unmatched investor policies. Growth, augmented revenues, and high job creation at varied skill levels are equally in focus.”
He added, “We have made it a habit to defy naysayers. First, they said Congress wouldn’t come to power. Then, they said it wouldn’t last. Now, they claim growth may be slow. We will prove them wrong again. We will develop Hyderabad as one of the top cities in the world.”
Reddy encouraged the audience, which included key members of the East Coast Indian community, to invest in Telangana. “You have made America stronger and more prosperous with your skills. Now come to Telangana,” he urged.
He outlined plans for a new city called “Future City,” which will join Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad. “This world-class masterplan needs you,” he said.
Reddy spoke about upcoming mega projects and the audience promised to help spread the word about investing in Telangana.
He detailed how Telangana aims to strengthen its software, pharma, vaccines, and healthcare sectors. The state also plans to build strong competencies in future tech, including Artificial Intelligence, and become a preferred manufacturing alternative to China.
Earlier, children performed songs and dances showcasing Telangana’s culture. Mohinder Singh Gilzian, president of the Overseas Congress party in the USA, welcomed the Chief Minister. He said, “Our wish to see you as Chief Minister has come true. Now, we all have to work hard to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of India.”
