Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy mentioned that the government is considering planting toddy palm trees along city roads. He assured that the idea will be taken forward.
During an event in Abdullapurmet, Revanth Reddy addressed toddy tappers and distributed safety kits to Gouda community members. He stated that the government will support planting palm trees on government lands, along roads, and on lake bunds. Instructions will be given to relevant departments, particularly irrigation, to implement this plan.
The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting caste-based workers in the State. He emphasized the importance of cultivating palm trees on government lands as part of Vanamahotsavam celebrations. The Excise Minister was instructed to oversee the steps taken in this regard.
Revanth Reddy also asked the IT Minister to coordinate with the irrigation department for planting trees along ponds and canals. He highlighted the government’s dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of toddy tappers and encouraged families to prioritize education for their children, who could become future leaders.
