Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged SCs, STs, and BCs not to support BJP and RSS in the upcoming elections. He warned that these elections are a referendum on the issue of reservation, as the BJP is trying to scrap reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities by 2025. Revanth highlighted how the BJP has hindered the implementation of Mandal Commission report on BC reservations and is aiming to win 400 MP seats to abolish reservations.
He also criticized the impact of GST and other economic policies on common people, noting that even essential items like incense sticks and children’s stationery are not spared from the GST. Revanth accused the BJP government of indulging in loot and discrimination against Telangana in terms of fund allocation and development projects.
Revanth listed several betrayals by the BJP towards Telangana, including mocking the formation of the state, merging villages into Andhra Pradesh, and failing to fulfill promises like setting up steel plants and power plants. He highlighted the unequal distribution of funds by the Centre, pointing out that Telangana receives only 43 paise for every rupee of tax paid, while other states receive significantly more.
The CM also criticized the BJP for neglecting Telangana during natural disasters like floods and providing more assistance to other states under disaster relief funds. He accused the BJP of betraying farmers by withholding water resources and canceling important projects like ITIR, which resulted in job losses and loss of investments in Telangana.
