    Hyderabad:
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has presented several important demands to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. These demands include the immediate release of Rs 11,713 crore for flood relief, better security along Telangana’s border with states affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE), the allocation of more IPS officers, and resolving long-standing issues between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister, along with an official team, met Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed the financial problems the state is facing, especially after recent heavy rains caused damage to infrastructure. Revanth Reddy reminded the Union Minister that he had already written a letter on September 2, asking for Rs 5,438 crore for repair work. A central team had visited Telangana, assessed the damage, and reported on September 30 that the total loss was Rs 11,713 crore. Revanth Reddy urged the Home Minister to release this amount quickly to help with repairs.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the Centre had already released Rs 416.80 crore to Telangana under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for 2024-25. He requested that these funds, meant for repairs, should not be mixed with previous funds used for SDRF-related projects.

Another key point raised by Revanth Reddy was the need to put Adilabad, Mancherial, and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts back on the list of Left Wing Extremism (LWE) Affected Districts. These districts were removed from the list, but the CM stressed that Telangana shares borders with LWE-affected states like Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, so security should be a priority.

Lastly, the Chief Minister asked Amit Shah to help resolve disputes related to the bifurcation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He specifically mentioned disagreements about the division of government buildings, corporations, and institutions listed under Schedule 9 and Schedule 10 of the AP Reorganization Act. Revanth Reddy urged the Union Minister to ensure a fair outcome for Telangana in these matters.
