Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Responds to PM Modi's Allegations
Chief Minister of Telangana, A Revanth Reddy, recently responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allegations against the Telangana government. Modi had claimed that the state government failed to fulfill promises made during elections.
While speaking at the Pradesh Congress Committee office in Mumbai, where he was campaigning for the Congress party, Revanth Reddy defended his government’s record. He mentioned that contrary to Modi’s accusations, Telangana had implemented several key initiatives, including waiving farm loans up to ₹2 lakh, providing free bus travel for women, offering 200 units of free electricity to the poor, and supplying gas cylinders at ₹500.
Revanth Reddy further elaborated on the farm loan waivers, stating that the government relieved over 22 lakh farmers from debt by waiving ₹17,869 crore in loans within just 25 days. He also highlighted that the Telangana government had filled 50,000 vacant posts in the first 10 months of its term. Reddy expressed his readiness to provide all these details to the central government if required. He emphasized that the Telangana government would continue promoting its achievements, especially in response to what he called Modi’s “lies.”
The Chief Minister also criticized the NDA government for neglecting farmers and introducing unfavorable laws. He accused the Modi administration of shifting 17 major projects from Maharashtra to Gujarat. In addition, Revanth Reddy shared that Telangana had conducted a caste census to promote social justice and announced that Congress would introduce a similar initiative in Maharashtra if it came to power.
Revanth Reddy pointed out that the Telangana government had offered strong counterarguments to PM Modi’s criticisms, particularly on farmers’ issues. He mentioned that Modi had to delete a tweet after facing significant backlash from Telangana.
Finally, Revanth Reddy urged the people of Maharashtra to vote against the BJP, accusing the party of deceiving the public. He emphasized Maharashtra’s historical importance, reminding citizens of the great leaders like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Bala Gangadhar Tilak, Savitribai Phule, and Dr. BR Ambedkar who had shaped the country’s destiny. According to him, Maharashtra must not fall into the wrong hands, and the Congress party would work to preserve its legacy.
