Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stated that India is currently divided into two groups: the “Modi Parivar” and the “Gandhi Parivar.” He urged citizens to support the “Gandhi Parivar” and work towards the success of the Congress-led alliance in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Speaking at the National Education Day and Minorities Welfare Day celebrations on Monday, Revanth Reddy explained the differences between the two groups. He said, “The Modi Parivar is creating divisions among people, while the Gandhi Parivar is working to unite the country.”

The Chief Minister called on minorities to put in their efforts to help Congress win in Maharashtra. He emphasized that only the Congress party can ensure justice for all communities. Revanth Reddy also expressed that no one should rest until the Modi government is defeated and Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister.

Revanth Reddy highlighted the important role minorities played in helping Congress come to power in Telangana. He further mentioned that both Hindus and Muslims are seen as equally important by his government.

The Chief Minister also addressed the lack of minority representation in the state Cabinet. He explained that no minority community members were elected as MLAs in the recent Assembly elections, which is why no one from the community was appointed as a minister. However, he pointed out that Muslim leaders were given roles as MLCs, Advisors, and Corporation Chairmen.

Revanth Reddy noted that his government was the first since YS Rajashekhara Reddy’s administration to appoint a minority officer in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). He also highlighted how the Congress party has historically provided opportunities for minorities to serve as Chief Ministers and Ministers across the country.
