The meeting between the Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has caused a lot of interest. The Mayor complained to the Chief Minister about Commissioner Ronald Rose, stating that he had not made decisions on many pending issues. She also spoke to the CM about a disagreement she had with the Commissioner regarding the formation of the Standing Committee, regular Council meetings, and managing finances. She asked for the Chief Minister’s help in resolving these matters.

As a result, the Chief Minister called for a meeting between the Commissioner and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary Dana Kishore on Sunday morning. This meeting has led to speculation in political circles that there may be more to this situation than meets the eye. Some believe that the Mayor may be preparing to leave the BRS party and join the Congress.

However, Vijayalakshmi denied these rumors and stated that she has no intention of changing her loyalties. She clarified that she simply requested the Chief Minister to invite her to future meetings regarding city development. She noted that she was not invited to previous meetings about the Musi Riverfront Development Project, which the Chief Minister had prioritized shortly after taking office.
