GHMC in Hyderabad has allowed a weekly vegetable market to be shifted from one major service road to Aurora Colony, causing issues for vendors and residents. The new location has drainage problems and traffic congestion, creating difficulties for both sellers and buyers.
The market, which was held on Thursday on the new road, has led to traffic snarls during busy hours as vendors set up stalls on the road. This has also resulted in waste left behind by vendors and trees cut down by the electricity department left unremoved for over two months.
Residents are unhappy with the current location of the market and are demanding that it be moved to another road. The road where the market is located connects several colonies and has become a traffic bottleneck due to the market setup.
Commuters like Vicky have experienced gridlock due to vehicles parked by buyers on the road and vendors occupying the space. GHMC is being urged to address these issues and consider relocating the market to a more suitable location.
