The Ministry of Defence recently announced plans to merge the civilian areas of Secunderabad Cantonment Board with GHMC. Locals are concerned about whether Cantonment roads will be accessible to civilians after the merger. They are urging officials to open all closed roads and provide clear information on road closures.

Currently, 21 out of 25 roads in the area are closed despite a 2018 order from the MoD to open them. The Local Military Authority still imposes restrictions. Locals are worried about toll gate-like structures near Bison Grounds and Lakdawala Gate causing difficulties for civilians post-merger.

Residents are noticing increased traffic due to road restrictions and are questioning how GHMC will manage commuter interests. They want clarity on whether closed roads will reopen after the merger and if morning walkers will have free movement.
