    Severe rains and water release from Peddavagu medium irrigation project caused flooding in Aswaraopeta mandal. 41 people were trapped on a low-level bridge, including workers and a shepherd.

    The flood waters rose suddenly, leaving four shepherds stranded on a tree in Bachuvaridgudem. Meanwhile, others were stuck on the low-level bridge at Narayanapuram. NDRF teams and district officials responded quickly to the situation.

    Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy coordinated with the Chief Minister’s Office to arrange a helicopter for rescue operations. District Collector Jitish V Patel and SP B Rohit Raju oversaw the rescue efforts.

    Around 20 individuals were safely evacuated by boat, while the rest were rescued with the help of a helicopter.
