Ukraine wants to buy F-16 fighter jets from the United States to help fight against Russian troops. The US has agreed to help train Ukrainian pilots on how to use the planes. The jets are much better than the old Soviet-era planes that Ukraine currently has. US President Joe Biden told other leaders from the G7 group of countries that the training will begin soon, but it will take a few months before they decide how many jets to give and who will provide them. The training will happen in Europe. Some Western countries are worried about giving too much equipment to Ukraine in case it puts their own countries at risk. They also don’t want to give anything that could be used to attack Russia.
