Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan held a meeting with the Indian Red Cross Society to discuss the flood-affected districts in the state. She reviewed the situation and efforts of the society’s relief and rehabilitation work through video conferences with 33 district branches and the state office.

The chairman of IRCS informed the governor that Jayashankar Bhoopalpally, Mulugu, Bhadrachalam, and Khammam districts were the most affected by heavy rainfall. The society immediately started providing help to people whose houses were damaged, offering them tarpaulin covers, food provisions, utensils, blankets, and medicine kits through their volunteers network.

The governor urged the district teams to assess the impact of the rain on housing, health, and livelihood. She also encouraged those affected to seek support from the state and central IRCS. Additionally, she advised the IRCS to open helplines and toll-free numbers to assist those in need.
