A fisherman in Andhra Pradesh caught the first Hilsa fish of the season in the Godavari River. The fish weighed one kilogram and was caught in the red waters of the river.
The fish was then auctioned off, attracting many bidders. Barre Srinu, a former village sarpanch, won the bidding war by purchasing the fish for Rs 24,000, setting a record for the highest price paid for a Hilsa fish.
Hilsa fish from the Godavari River are known for their delicious taste and are sold at a premium price due to their popularity.
