Seven children in the pediatric ward at Machilipatnam Government Hospital had minor reactions after receiving Amoxyclav injections. Out of the 15 children in the ward, nine were being treated. After getting the injections, seven of them complained of colds, nausea, and fever. They were quickly moved to the Intensive Care Unit and their condition has since stabilized.

The hospital has followed standard procedure by handing over the injection vials to the Pharmacovigilance department. Doctors are closely monitoring the children’s health.

Former Minister Kollu Ravindra has placed blame on the State Government for the incident and is calling for the antibiotic manufacturer to be blacklisted.
