Prominent BJP State working committee members, Nelli Sri Vardhan Reddy and Ande Babaiah, showed their support for declaring the cow as the national animal. This discussion gained attention when Balakrishna Guruswamy, the founder and president of Akhil Bharata Go Seva foundation, arrived. He is leading a padayatra of 20,000 kms from Hyderabad Mahankali Ujjain to Tirupati to advocate for this cause.
During their stop at Janampet near the Venkateswara temple, the event was attended by State executive members Nelli Sri Vardhan Reddy, Ande Babaiah, and Bandaru Ramesh of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The Swamis, led by Balakrishna Guruswami, were welcomed with traditional pujas. Several individuals, including BJP leaders, were also present.
Nelli Sri Vardhan Reddy emphasized the importance of preserving cultural values and traditions in the post-independence era. He mentioned that our culture has faced challenges in the name of secularism and praised previous generations for protecting our heritage. Ande Babaiah highlighted the vital role of farmers in the country’s backbone and drew similarities between a farmer and a cow. He discussed the harmful effects of toxic pesticides and fertilizers used in agriculture, which have led to the disappearance of many life forms on earth. As a solution, he advocated for the protection of cows and declaring them as the national animal.
