Gadwal: Youth Still Waiting for Change After 10 Years of Telangana's Formation
District President Ramachandra Reddy, speaking at a press conference in Gadwal’s DK Bungalow, expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in the lives of Telangana’s youth. He stated that even after a decade of the state’s formation and changes in government, the youth continue to face the same challenges.
Reddy pointed out that many people had high hopes for development when Telangana was formed, with promises of water, funds, and employment. However, he claimed that these expectations remain unfulfilled. He contrasted the current situation with the days of united Andhra Pradesh, when youth had access to supportive schemes like CMEY and loans from BC, SC, and Minority Corporations. These programs, he said, helped individuals achieve self-reliance and live with dignity.
The district leader urged policymakers to prioritize empowering the youth for the state’s overall progress. He highlighted several central government initiatives aimed at providing employment and strengthening the economy.
Central Government Loan Schemes for Youth
Reddy detailed some of the central government’s key schemes that are available for young people:
– Vishwakarma Yojana: Loans up to ₹1 lakh.
– Street Vendor Scheme: Interest-free loans ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹50,000.
– Mudra Loans: Loans from ₹50,000 to ₹20 lakh.
– National Livelihood Mission: Loans up to ₹1 crore with a 50% subsidy.
– PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme): Loans with a 50% subsidy.
– Startup India and Standup India: Designed to encourage entrepreneurship and support exports under the “Make in India” initiative.
Reddy called on the Telangana government to introduce similar programs that provide financial assistance through various corporations. He criticized the state government for prioritizing the opening of liquor shops in villages instead of focusing on youth empowerment. He urged the government to invest in skill development and entrepreneurship, aiming to transform Telangana into a role model for the rest of the country.
The press conference was attended by several prominent leaders, including District General Secretary Ravi Kumar Ekbote, District Vice President Rajaka Narasimha, KK Reddy, former Assembly Convener Ram Anjaneyulu, Assembly candidate Baligera Shiva Reddy, OBC Morcha President Devadasu, IT Cell Co-Convener Chittari Kiran, BJYM State Executive Member Delhi Wala Krishna, and State OBC Morcha Executive Member Anil.
