The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has announced its executive team for 2023-24. Rakesh Sharma, Director of ITV Group and ‘Good Morning Media India’, is the new President of INS. He takes over from Raja Prasad Reddy (Sakshi). The decision was made during the 84th Annual General Meeting of INS, held via video conferencing.
Rakesh Sharma has been in the media industry for 50 years and has held important positions. His Good Morning Group publishes well-known newspapers like ‘Aaj Samaj’, ‘The Daily Guardian’, ‘The Sunday Guardian’, ‘India News’, and ‘Business Guardian’.
Other elected members of the INS executive team include MV Shreyams Kumar (Mathrubhoomi) as Deputy President, Vivek Gupta (Sanmarg) as Vice President, Tanmay Maheshwari (Amar Ujala) as Honorary Treasurer, and Mary Paul as Secretary General.
Sharma is committed to the industry’s progress and acknowledges that there is still much work to be done, especially in recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. He promises to take effective steps to move the industry forward.
