Rajnath Singh Encourages Youth to Excel in Science and Technology
Hyderabad: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has urged young people to develop a scientific mindset and take advantage of the advanced infrastructure being built in India. He emphasized that the government is making efforts to provide world-class facilities to help them excel in modern technology.
Speaking at the inauguration of Vigyan Vaibhav, a two-day science and technology event held in Hyderabad as part of National Science Day celebrations, Rajnath Singh highlighted the government’s commitment to using modern technology for national security. He pointed out that India’s youth have great potential, and the government aims to harness their talents to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
The Defence Minister also spoke about the New Education Policy 2020, which focuses on transforming science education by promoting creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. He noted that this year’s National Science Day theme, ‘Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat’, aligns with this vision. He described it as a reflection of India’s ambition to lead globally in science and innovation.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also addressed the gathering, stating that Hyderabad has always been a center for scientific excellence and technological advancement. He encouraged young participants at Vigyan Vaibhav 2025 to dream big and pursue innovation with passion.
As part of the event, a large exhibition was organized, attracting over 30,000 students. With more than 200 exhibition stalls, the event showcased cutting-edge defense and aerospace technologies developed by DRDO and top Indian industries. The exhibition aimed to spark curiosity, inspire innovation, and motivate students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). By doing so, it hopes to nurture future scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs who will drive India towards global technological leadership.
