T Raja Singh Opposes New Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal Stadium
Hyderabad: BJP leader T Raja Singh has urged the government to drop its plan of constructing a new building for Osmania Hospital at the Goshamahal Stadium. Raising the issue during Zero Hour on Tuesday, Singh pointed out that there is already a large piece of land next to the existing hospital building, which could be used for the construction.
He emphasized that Goshamahal Stadium is the only major playground in the area, where people of all ages engage in physical activities daily. Additionally, the stadium hosts several spiritual and cultural programs, such as Bhagwath Kathas. Singh argued that repurposing the stadium for a hospital would deprive the community of this vital space.
Singh also highlighted the practical challenges of the proposed plan. He noted that the locality is already densely populated with narrow roads, and adding a major hospital would worsen congestion. He expressed concerns about health risks, particularly during outbreaks of severe diseases like COVID-19, which could adversely affect residents in nearby areas. Singh called on the government to reconsider and withdraw the proposal.

AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi demanded the government release long-pending scholarship amounts for students. Speaking in the assembly, he said that post- and pre-matric scholarships had not been provided for the last four years. As a result, colleges were withholding students’ certificates due to unpaid scholarship funds.
Owaisi warned that his party, along with others like BRS, BJP, and CPI, would organize a massive protest to demand the release of these scholarships. He stressed that student suicides had tripled compared to farmer suicides and urged immediate action to address the issue.

Construction and Traffic Concerns Raised in Assembly
MIM MLA Mohammed Mubin urged the government to build a foot-over bridge at Nehru Zoological Park. He explained that heavy traffic caused by two flyovers converging at the park has made it difficult for pedestrians to cross safely.
Meanwhile, K Venkatesh from the BRS party demanded that the government expedite the completion of work on the 6-number junction flyover. He noted that the project, which has been ongoing for six years, still has ten percent of the work remaining and needs urgent attention.
