The Afzal Gunj police have taken action against BJP MLA T Raja Singh for his inflammatory speech against the minority community during a Shoba Yatra held on Sri Rama Navami. Local SI Veera Babu, who was overseeing security arrangements, objected to Singh’s comments and filed a complaint against him. This is not the first time that Singh has been booked for making such speeches. He had made a similar speech in Mumbai on January 29, 2023, and the Mumbai police had also filed a criminal case against him. The City Police has now issued a notice to Singh and reminded him that the High Court had instructed him not to make communal speeches in his bail order. It is important to ensure that such hate speech is not tolerated in any form, and those who engage in it must be held accountable for their actions.
